S.O.B. Review
Eletrika S.O.B.
is an album that could be easily heard on any rock radio
station and in my mind should be. It is heavy in spots but
has a very alternative rock ring to it. There’s a bit of
industrial mixed in and it adds heaviness to the album. This
will not be appealing to the extreme metal scene, but Eletrika is
not a Matchbox 20 band either. I put S.O.B. to the wife test and
although she could tolerate it. Eletrika's music was just a bit too heavy for
her to really enjoy. Well, I enjoy it and have been for
a couple of weeks now. S.O.B. is a nice refresher and is one
hell of an album with great musicianship. I admit, I would like to see them go a bit
heavier in the future and this is said to be the direction.
However, I have doubts. Claudio David force me to eat those
words!

I got hooked
on the vocalist right away as he has this bit of anger in
his voice. The songs are very well written both lyrically
and musically. I found production was well done also, but I
would have liked to have more bass. When I can turn the bass
up all the way in my truck with the stereo from hell, and
there is no distortion then you may need a bit more bass.
This is a very well thought out release and these guys
worked hard. I can tell. The songs get the blood going and
are very catchy. I found myself singing along with the
tracks in English. The Portuguese tracks really did not add
for me, but they were easy to listen to and had great
energy. I am not sure if that makes this band unique or not,
but does it matter as long as you can lay it down like these
guys are.
